When you buy a system from Wattle Powr, you receive two types of warranties:
- Product Manufacturer’s Warranty: Covers each major hardware component in your system, including solar panels, inverters, batteries, EV chargers, and any mounting or racking equipment.
- Installation Service Warranty: Covers the quality of work performed during the installation of your system.
To simplify it, Wattle Powr manages both types of warranties as your single point of contact. Here’s a breakdown of each warranty and how to make a claim if needed:
1. Product Manufacturer’s Warranty
Each major component of your system comes with a manufacturer’s warranty starting from the day it’s installed. Warranty periods vary by manufacturer and product, but typical timeframes include:
- Solar Panels: 10 years (up to 25 years in some cases)
- Batteries: 10 years
- Inverters: 10 years
- EV Chargers: 5 years
These warranties typically:
- Ensure Quality: Guarantee that the product is free from defects or performs to a specified standard. For example, a battery warranty might cover a minimum number of cycles or ensure a certain capacity retention over time.
- Cover Repairs or Replacements: They cover the cost of repairing or replacing defective parts. However, they may not cover associated costs like removal, reinstallation, insurance, customs, or duties. In remote areas, manufacturers might only partially cover these costs, but Wattle will advocate on your behalf for the best possible outcome.
- Offer Extension Options: You can often extend the warranty for an additional cost.
Important:
Your warranty may be impacted by how you use the product. For instance, using your battery for anything beyond solar self-consumption or backup, such as participating in a virtual power plant, could affect coverage. Always check the fine print with your energy retailer, and remember that warranties might not transfer to new owners.
You can find warranty details in your quote or directly on the product manufacturer’s website.
2. Installation Services Warranty
Wattle’s Installation Service Warranty covers:
- Incorrect or Faulty Workmanship: This includes any errors made by installers directly involved in the installation process.
- Major Damage from Work: For example, any identifiable roof leaks or similar issues caused by the installation.
The workmanship warranty is valid for five years from the installation date. For further details, refer to the Wattle Powr sale and installation agreement terms and conditions.
