Here’s what to expect when you choose Wattle Powr, from getting a quote to installation day:
1. Request a Quote
Once you submit your request, we'll design your system and generate your quote through the Wattle Powr Platform within one business day. When your quote is ready, we’ll email you a link to review it. It includes your system design, product details, and savings and generation estimates. If you have questions, you can chat with our local team over the phone or set up a video call to discuss your quote.
2. Choose an Installation Day
When you’re ready to proceed, you’ll select your preferred days for a site inspection (if needed) or installation. We’ll match you with a Wattle Powr Certified Installer in your local area and do our best to accommodate your schedule.
3. Payment Options
Wattle Powr offers two payment methods:
- InstalPay: This option allows you to finance systems up to $30,000 without a deposit. You'll be directed to the CBA Netbank Portal to complete your application, and your order will be confirmed once approved.
- Credit/Debit Card: You can pay for your system in full or cover the remaining balance. A deposit is required to secure your order.
4. Installation Preparation
After placing your order, we take care of everything needed to prepare your system for installation. This includes:
- Scheduling the installation with your Certified Installer.
- Organising grid connection with your Distribution Network.
- Ordering the hardware and providing the job pack to our installer. You’ll receive updates as your order progresses and we approach installation day.
5. Installation Day
On the scheduled day, you’ll need to be at home. Your system will be installed and commissioned by the end of the day, or it will be prepared for a required safety inspection (as in Victoria). Installations typically take 3 to 8 hours, depending on complexity. After installation, you’ll receive an email and SMS from FormBay to digitally approve the transfer of your Small-scale Technology Certificates (STCs). It’s important to sign the STC form, as this value has already been discounted from your invoice. Once the form is signed, we’ll email you a Welcome Pack with warranties, contact details, and other important information about your new system.
6. Metering
If your installation includes solar, we’ll arrange for your meter to be exchanged or reconfigured for solar export through your energy retailer. For battery installations where you already have solar, a reconfiguration isn’t needed.
Wattle Powr manages the entire metering process, but since Metering Service Providers oversee this, there may be times when additional switchboard work is required at your cost. We’ll keep you informed throughout the process to ensure everything runs smoothly.
7. Ongoing Support
After installation, we’ll continue monitoring your system to ensure optimal performance, and we’ll reach out if we notice any issues. As a Wattle Powr customer, you can always return to the Platform to ask questions and get support for your renewable energy investment.
