Site Inspections with Wattle Powr

Modified on Mon, 4 Nov, 2024 at 5:20 PM

Before a Wattle Powr Certified Installer begins your installation, they may need to conduct a site inspection at your home. This service is free, and you won’t need to pay your deposit at this stage.

Preparing for Your Site Inspection

A site inspection typically takes around 45 minutes. During this time, the installer will plan the safest and most efficient way to complete the installation. Here’s how you can prepare for the visit:

  • Ensure someone over the age of 18 is present.

  • Secure all pets for the duration of the visit.

  • Ensure the installer can access your roof (for solar installations) or enter your home (for battery and EV charger installations).

What Happens During a Site Inspection?

For Solar System Installations:
On the day of your site inspection, your installer will:

  • Plan how to safely access your roof.

  • Confirm that the installation can proceed as designed.

  • Work with you to select a suitable location for the system.

  • Plan cable runs.

  • Check your Wi-Fi signal strength.

  • Inspect your switchboard to determine if upgrades are needed.

For Battery Installations:
Your installer will:

  • Plan how to safely transport the battery (which can weigh over 100 kg).

  • Assess whether additional fire or mechanical protection is required.

During the inspection, the installer may identify aspects that require adjustments to your initial quote—such as switchboard upgrades or extra safety measures. If any changes are needed, we’ll issue an updated quote for your approval.
