Installing a solar or battery system involves licensed electrical work. The electricians responsible for supervising and carrying out that work must hold the licences required in the state or territory where the installation takes place.
Wattle Powr maintains its electrical licensing arrangements through qualified electricians employed by our business. Depending on the jurisdiction, this includes electrical contractor licences, qualified supervisor or nominee arrangements, and individual electrical worker licences.
In addition, every installation is completed by a Wattle Powr Certified Installer who holds the electrical contractor and worker licences required in the relevant jurisdiction. The professionals responsible for designing and installing the system also hold the appropriate Solar Accreditation Australia accreditation for their role.
Together, these arrangements provide two levels of assurance:
- Wattle Powr has appropriately qualified electrical personnel overseeing its electrical compliance obligations.
- The local installation business and electricians completing the work hold the licences and accreditations required for your installation.

Why This Matters
Electrical licensing confirms that the businesses and electricians responsible for your installation meet the qualification, competency, supervision and safety requirements set by the relevant state or territory regulator.
Solar Accreditation Australia accreditation is separate from electrical licensing. It confirms that the professionals responsible for designing and installing your system have completed specialist training for the relevant solar or battery technology.
These requirements help ensure your system is designed, installed, tested and certified in accordance with applicable electrical safety requirements and Australian Standards. They may also form part of the requirements for network connection and government incentives, alongside network approval, eligible equipment and other program conditions.
You are also protected by our Installation Services Warranty and your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.
Our Certified Installer Network
Licensing is the foundation of a safe installation, but our quality controls go further.
Every installer in our network must pass Wattle Powr’s onboarding and verification process before completing installations for our customers. We verify that the installation business and its electricians hold the required electrical licences, insurance and relevant SAA accreditation.
Our Certified Installers are also subject to ongoing quality, health and safety requirements, with completed installations reviewed through Wattle Powr’s quality assurance process.
