When you buy solar through UPowr, you're entitled to a full refund of your deposit for any reason and at any time, prior to 7 days before your scheduled installation date.*
After this time, if you cancel or reschedule your order less than 7 days before your scheduled installation date, we cannot refund your deposit. This is because the deposit goes towards covering the cost of the work completed to prepare your order.
For example, in the weeks after you’ve made your deposit, we’ve applied for grid connection approval, placed an order for materials with our hardware suppliers, arranged for the delivery of these materials and blocked other jobs from taking place on the scheduled date with your solar installer. This has a cost to the business that needs to be recovered in the event of a cancellation.
Changing your mind on installation day
We take a number of steps to ensure that variations on installation day are not required, however, they're sometimes necessary to complete the job to standards. If you feel the additional cost of on-site variations is too significant, we will be happy to refund your deposit.
* Under Australian Consumer Law, you are entitled to a full refund of your deposit within the cooling-off period of 10 days, after the deposit has been processed.
As the installation process will not occur 10 days after the deposit is placed (21 days is the earliest minimum), this UPowr policy extends the deposit refund period to provide customers with greater flexibility.
