Whether installation day is just around the corner or you’re getting ready in advance, here’s everything you need to know about how the day will unfold:
1. Arrival of Your Certified Installer
Your installer will arrive within the time window confirmed via SMS and email. They’ll introduce themselves and share important information about the job. If you’re in Victoria and have applied for the Solar Victoria rebate, have your QR code ready for scanning—this is essential for receiving your rebate.
To ensure a safe working environment, please secure any pets before the installers arrive. The installation won’t proceed if the area is unsafe.
If severe weather conditions arise that could pose a risk to the installers, we’ll notify you as soon as possible about any delays or rescheduling.
2. Pre-Start Safety Check
Before starting, your Certified Installer will conduct a Job Safety and Environmental Analysis (JSEA) and a Safe Work Method Statement (SWMS). They’ll also confirm the recommended location(s) for the installation to ensure everything proceeds smoothly. The installer will also set up their working zones, please stay away from the designated areas.
3. Installation Begins
To maintain safety during the installation, your power will be turned off for about an hour while the system is being commissioned. Power will also need to be turned off anytime the installer needs to access your roof cavity. The installer will keep you informed, so you can plan around these power interruptions (e.g., cooling your home ahead of time, preparing food, etc.).
4. System Testing
After the installation is complete, the installer will conduct a thorough system test. They’ll also need your Wi-Fi password to set up any necessary monitoring for your system.
Installation Finished!
Your system is now installed and ready for sign-off.
In Victoria: An inspector will need to review the system before it can be switched on.
In other states: Your system may be turned on immediately after testing.
